Yoko Ono, Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon Team Up for Collaborative Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 20, 2012

Serial collaborator Yoko Ono already has a history with Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore, as she teamed up with Sonic Youth's (now ex-) power couple during L.A. shows in 2010, and previously recruited Moore for her 1996 EP Rising Mixes. Now, those collaborations have spawned the album YOKOKIMTHURSTON, which will come out on September 25 through Chimera Music.

The album contains six songs, but despite the short tracklist, it definitely earns its full-length status. After all, closing track "Early in the Morning" is available to purchase from Chimera, and it's 14 minutes long. That epic track is also available on ten-inch vinyl with all proceeds going to the Ashinaga Rainbow House for orphaned children.

It's unclear whether this album was recorded before or after Gordon and Moore's recent split. See the tracklist below and the album artwork above.

YOKOKIMTHURSTON:

1. I Missed You Listening

2. Running the Risk

3. I Never Told You, Did I?
4. Mirror Mirror

5. Let's Get There

6. Early in the Morning
