Yoko Ono Threatens John Lennon-Themed Bar with Lawsuit

Yoko Ono usually loves it when people pay tribute to her late husband, John Lennon. Last year, she even solicited tribute messages from all over the world to celebrate what would have been his 70th birthday. One Scottish bar owner, however, has taken his fandom a little too far, apparently, and now Yoko has threatened him with a lawsuit.

Lennon's Bar is located in Dundee, Scotland, and the Beatles-themed establishment is filled with memorabilia. This didn't sit will with Yoko, and her lawyers sent owner Mike Craig a letter demanding the name be changed and all the collectibles removed within 14 days.

"It's ridiculous. The pub's been called Lennon's for about five years," said Craid [via Wenn], who was accused of copyright infringement. "The signs will be removed this week."

Given her apparent tendency to threaten people with legal action, we're hoping that Lennon's widow doesn't find out about Vancouver band Oh No! Yoko, or Chad VanGaalen's Yoko Eno studio.
