Yoko Ono Recruits Lady Gaga, RZA, Sonic Youth for Star-Studded L.A. Shows

Yoko Ono sure has a knack for roping in high-profile collaborators - just see her Wikipedia entry, which devotes an entire paragraph to listing musicians she has worked with (including Eric Clapton, Paul Simon and Frank Zappa). Now, Ono is looking to expand that impressive list with a pair of shows in Los Angeles this fall.

The first show will take place on October 1 at L.A.'s Orpheum Theatre, and will feature appearances from Lady Gaga and Sonic Youth power couple Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. The next night, Iggy Pop will show up, alongside Wilco's Nels Cline and Mike Watt.

A number of artists are slated to appear on both nights, including RZA, Perry Farrell, tUnE-yArDs, Vincent Gallo, YMO's Haruomi Hosono and, uh, Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher.

As usual, Ono will appear alongside her Plastic Ono Band, which features Cornelius, Yuka Honda and her son, Sean Lennon. Fans can expect some classic material originally recorded with John Lennon, alongside newer songs from last year's Between My Head and the Sky.

The event comes as Ono gets set to celebrate what would have been Lennon's 70th birthday on October 9.
