Yo-Yo's

Uppers and Downers

BY Roman SokalPublished Feb 1, 2001

Similarity and generics breed contempt. This is what I hold unto this dreary English band who provide nothing but background fodder for teen flicks. They have deconstructed rock music into pre-school puzzle pieces so much that the sound of a buzzing fly contains more harmony. Their massive use of down-tunings does not help at all and neither does the vocals, which are way off on another plane of pitch. It's about time that cookie cutters shouldn't be made out of stainless steel. Let it all rust!
