"Henrietta"

Brooklyn pop eclectics Yeasayer previously promised that they were working on a "demented R&B record" that sounded a bit like "an Aaliyah album if you played it backwards and slowed it down." Now, a song presumably culled from that project has hit the web.

The track is called "Henrietta." Just like the band suggested, it carries a strong R&B undercurrent with faintly funky electro rhythms and fluttering synths. This gives way to a droning, ambient middle section before building back up to a slinky groove.

According to We All Want Someone to Shout For, the song appeared on CDs that were sent out to members of the band's mailing list. Listen below.
