Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner Issues Benefit Single with Old Band Challenge of the Future

Yeah Yeah Yeahs got back into the swing of things with their Mosquito LP earlier this year, but there's even more music in store from guitarist Nick Zinner. The six-stringer recently got back together with his old band Challenge of the Future to drop a benefit single called "You Can't Call Off the Dog."

Challenge of the Future formed in 1993 but disbanded in 2001, letting Zinner focus on Yeah Yeah Yeahs full time. The art-rock band first got back together for a benefit gig last year for the daughter of Sebastian Quezada, an old friend of the band from their days at Bard College who had passed away unexpectedly.

"You Can't Call Off the Dog" was recorded live at New York's Wreckroom studio, and all proceeds will go towards the Isabella Quezada-Mitchell College Fund.

Chock-a-block with fretboard-scouring garage licks and hoop-and-hollering vocal ticks, you can stream the song down below or buy it on their Bandcamp page.
