Published Apr 16, 2013Yeah Yeah Yeahs release their anticipated album, Mosquito, today (April 16) through Interscope, and last night they did a little 11th hour promotion by hitting Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform a couple of tunes.
They played the title track, a creepy crawly smasher driven by frontwoman's Karen O's cartoonish yelps, plus the climactically soul-tinged "Sacrilege." The latter tune featured a sampled gospel choir as the singer rubbed up against the front row of the audience. She looked characteristically gaudy with a sparkly denim outfit, a blonde bob, one glittering knee pad and — for the beginning of the performance — a pair of oversized sunglasses with a missing lens.
