The Festival de Musique Émergente (FME) returns to Rouyn-Noranda in Quebec's Abitibi-Témiscamingue region this Labour Day weekend. From August 30 until September 2, many boundary-pushing artists across all genres will head to the city for a weekend of intimate performances.

Topping this year's lineup is the return of Karkwatson, the collaboration between members of Patrick Watson's band and Karkwa, for their first performance in over 10 years. The project will perform twice over the course of the festival.

The festival will feature plenty of performances from some of Quebec's best artists, including Hubert Lenoir, Loud, Milk & Bone, Random Recipe, OuriJessica Moss, Corridor, Zach Zoya, Camaromance, Jesse Mac Cormack and Depths of Hatred.

Performers coming from elsewhere in Canada include Yamantaka // Sonic Titan, Kandle and FRIGS. There's even some international representation courtesy of Yonatan Gat (with the Eastern Medicine Singers), Nakhane and Cattle Decapitation.
