YACHT Hit Up Canada on North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 25, 2011

Portland-based synth pop warriors YACHT have been holed up in the studio, hard at work on the follow-up to their DFA debut See Mystery Lights. While no info on the album has emerged just yet, it's likely finished and on its way because the duo have announced a massive North American tour for most of the spring.

On this run of dates, Pitchfork reports that the duo of Jona Bechtolt and Claire Evans will be joined by the Straight Gaze, a punnily named backing band that includes Bobby Birdman, Jeffrey Jerusalem and Katy Davidson of Dear Nora.

In addition to a high profile slot at Coachella, the tour includes three Canadian stops, as the band plays Montreal's Cabaret du Mile End on March 1, Toronto's Lee's Palace on March 2 and Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on March 13. All dates are available below.
