Published Jun 01, 2012Following a recently posted live video featuring some new material and the announcement of an upcoming North American trip, Brit bedroom pop trio the XX have finally unveiled plans for their long-awaited sophomore album. The record will be called Coexist, and it arrives this fall.
The band confirmed in a quick note on their Facebook page that the record comes out September 11 in North America, and a day earlier in Europe, via Young Turks. Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the act to follow up to their self-titled 2009 breakthrough, and it seems the group are just as anxious to get the tunes out there.
"After a long time on the road, we took a break, created our own studio and wrote these new songs that we're so looking forward to playing to you," the XX wrote. "We will be touring throughout the summer and beyond, and hope to play somewhere near you soon."
Unfortunately, a tracklisting has yet to be delivered, and we're still unsure which image will grace the album's cover.
In the meantime, you can check out the group's upcoming tour schedule, which finds the band playing Toronto July 28 and Montreal July 29, over here, and keep your fingers crossed they'll spike their sets with some new songs.
