Published Jun 29, 2012If there's one thing we know, it's that indie rock fans love their limited-edition vinyl. Graveface Records knows that too, and will be starting up a new vinyl subscription series featuring Xiu Xiu, Mount Eerie and Mike Watt, among others, with proceeds going to the charity of the artist's choice.
The aptly named 2012 Graveface Records Charity Series will issue 12 seven-inches and three ten-inches between August and December, and will also include exclusive material from Dosh, Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater, Hospital Ships, and Serengeti with Tobacco and Advance Base.
The inaugural single is Mount Eerie's "World Heaves" / "Engel Der Luft," and proceeds from the record will go to Friends of the ACFL, an environmental group dedicated to preserving the forest lands of leader Phil Elverum's native Anacortes, WA. You can check out the rest of the details over here.
Canadians can pre-order all the records now for $157. The collector's package will feature coloured vinyl, a custom 45 adaptor for turntables, a tote bag and an 11x17 poster. The deluxe grab bag will be limited to 250 copies.
You can also nab the set in three-packs arranged by their monthly release dates, and these will also be available on coloured vinyl. Select record stores will also be sent copies of the records available on black vinyl.
You can watch a lengthy trailer featuring clips from the series, as well as footage of rotting pumpkins and old Campbell's Soup commercials, down below.
