Xiu Xiu and Dirty Beaches Team Up for Split Seven-Inch, North American Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 28, 2012

Xiu Xiu and Dirty Beaches both specialize in dark and gloomy sounds, so it's only fitting that these two acts will be joining forces for what's bound to be a very bleak split seven-inch and tour.

The single will be out on Record Store Day (April 21). Xiu Xiu's half of the split will feature a cover of Erasure's "Always," while Dirty Beaches' side will boast his version of Françoise Hardy's "Tu Ne Dis Rien."

In May, the two acts will link up for a North American tour that includes Canadian stops in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. Then, later in the month, Xiu Xiu will come to Vancouver with Montreal-based psych-mongers Yamantaka//Sonic Titan.

See Xiu Xiu's tour schedule below. This busy itinerary will give the band a chance to promote their new album, Always, which is due out March 6 through Polyvinyl Records. The video for "Hi" is streaming at the bottom of the page.
