Wunder

A remarkable album that serves up shimmering soundscapes seemingly equally influenced by Ellington and electronica, the debut of Jorg Follert's Wunder project has to be heard to be believed. The textured songs have a strong lyrical bent thanks to some well-chosen samples from ages-old swing records - at least they have the snap and crackle of old vinyl sides. The home recording showcases Wunder's blend of dream-pop and orchestral swing, a warm sound that listeners will find themselves soaking in.
