Wu-Tang Clan's 'Wu-Tang Forever' Treated to Vinyl Reissue

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 30, 2014

There's been a lot of Wu-Tang Clan news to report over the last little while, from upcoming releases to tour dates to apparently patched-up internal beef, and now the New York vets have announced they'll also be delivering a vinyl reissue of their epic Wu-Tang Forever LP.

As Modern Vinyl points out, Music on Vinyl is set to give the album its first vinyl pressing since the original launch back in 1997, and the reissue comes spread across four slabs of wax. The first 1,500 copies of the repress will be served up on "crystal clear" vinyl.

A press release notes that the sophomore set amplified RZA's beatwork from debut LP Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) to include "more elaborate production, soundtrack style violins and synths," while the Clan's ranks were beefed up on the release to include Cappadonna. The eight-side, 27-song set, meanwhile, still had the crew telling "stories about ghetto life, hoochie mamas and getting high as a kite."

The band's sophomore effort quickly hit the No. 1 album spot in the U.S. and Canada upon its release. You can check out first single "Triumph" down below.

As for new Wu tunes, a release date has yet to be given for the long-in-the-works A Better Tomorrow LP, as well as the pricey, one-of-a-kind Once Upon a Time in Shaolin box.
