"Death to Rights" on Exclaim! TV: Aggressive Tendencies

BY Lisa VanderwykPublished Nov 4, 2015

American metalcore unit As I Lay Dying are now forging on without former frontman Tim Lambesis, enlisting Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper to reinforce their roster as Wovenwar.

In a recent interview with Exclaim! TV's Aggressive Tendencies, Blay talks about the band's decision to eschew the negativity and keep pushing forward. Discussing the band's new name, he explains that, "It's sort of a battle to figure out what defines you, whether it's good, or bad." Blay also shed light on the future of the band, and although they offer conflicting descriptions of the sound to expect, they promise one thing: it will be heavy.

However, the band depart from their typically aggressive noise for this session of Exclaim! TV, exchanging their usual three-guitar line-up for a stripped-down acoustic set. Below, watch Wovenwar perform a far gentler rendition of a cut from their self-titled album called "Death to Rights."
