'Bastards of the Party' (mixtape)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 3, 2013

Fool's Gold Records have been on a hot streak this year, having already served up Killer Mike and El-P's Run the Jewels collaboration and with Danny Brown's Old LP just around the corner. Also being offered up from the label, for free, is Bastards of the Party, the debut mixtape from six-piece Queens collective World's Fair.

The band comprises Children of the Night's Nasty Nigel, Remy Banks and Lansky as well as Cody B. Ware, Prince SAMO and Jeff Donna. Together, they've tossed together a 13-song freelease that serves up jazzy, horn-driven beats ("Heathrow"), old-school breaks ("Nem Diggas"), po-mo, pitch-shifted clankers ("Get Out"), and all-star mic-passing sessions ("96 Knicks").
