Malcolm Fraser has been making his way around the Canadian music scene as the World Provider since 1999 — coming up alongside acts like Feist, Peaches and Chilly Gonzales before setting up base in Montreal back in 2001. Still working from there, Fraser's "superheroic alter ego" the World Provider has unveiled his latest work in the form of a video for "Pam Pam," which Exclaim.ca is pleased to premiere.

The song was produced by the Dears' Murray Lightburn and features the aforementioned Gonzales tickling the ivories against Fraser's synth backbeat. As for the video, it was directed by award-winning filmmaker and longtime World Provider collaborator Kara Blake.

The clip merges black and white footage with bursts of colour, blending serene natural landscapes with explosive fireworks and shots of Fraser and vocalist Stacey Dewolfe.

The World Provider will be hitting the stage at Toronto's Handlebar on Saturday (October 11) with the Almighty Rhombus, the Lord Almighties and Bardos as part of the Wavelength concert series. You can get all the details on the show over here, and to tide you over til then, get the first look at the video for "Pam Pam" below.
