Published May 18, 2011Though it's been dormant since 2008, the long-running World Electronic Music Festival has announced its return. Founded in 1995, the Southern Ontario concert event has brought countless big names to its stages, from Paul Oakenfold, to MSTRKRFT to Deadmau5. The lineup for this year's fest suggests this latest incarnation is keeping with tradition.
WEMF 2011, which run August 12 to 14 on the hills overlooking Algonquin Park in South Algonquin, features a host of current talent. From UK dubstep phenom Rusko, to celebrated DJ Calvin Harris, to Skrillex, Digitalism, Infected Mushroom, Andy C and Noisia, this year's edition of WEMF has plenty to offer.
On top of the talent, the fest will also feature the Tower of Destiny stage, a multimedia experience of videos and lights. Apparently, it was all the rage at last year's Burning Man. There will also be a number of chill-out tents featuring 24-hour DJs and some art exhibits as well.
Tickets are on sale now over here. You better hurry up, though. The first two rounds of early bird tickets have sold out. As of press time, tickets for the three-day event are $200
