Back in January, Woodstock co-creator Michael Lang confirmed plans to throw an anniversary festival to mark 50 years since the original event took place. After Lang promised "an eclectic bill," a handful of acts set to play Woodstock 50 have been revealed.
As Billboard reports, organizers have landed the Killers, Imagine Dragons, Chance the Rapper, Santana, and Dead and Company to perform at the festival, which is set to take place at Watkins Glen, NY, from August 16 to 18.
The reveal of the aforementioned acts comes as part of a Billboard story on the event's perceived financial troubles. The site reports that a brief delay in making artist payments temporarily raised red flags with talent agencies, which had initially been expecting a lineup announcement last month.
The site notes that representatives for Woodstock 50 confirmed yesterday (March 4) that talent agencies had been wired funds, with an agency head confirming with the publication that its artists had been paid in full.
"There's always been lots of rumours around Woodstock," Lang said in a statement to Billboard. "We have excellent partners and an incredible talent lineup of over 80 artists which will be announced within the next couple of weeks. We're preparing a once in a lifetime event."
Billboard notes that a proper lineup announcement for Woodstock 50 is expected in the next two weeks.
That same August weekend, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will celebrate Woodstock's 50th anniversary on the event's original site. From August 15 to 18, the site will host a series of shows from Santana, Ringo Starr, the Doobie Brothers and more.
