Woodpigeon Returns with 'T R O U B L E' LP, Premieres "Faithful" Video

Mark Andrew Hamilton has announced plans for his sixth studio album under the Woodpigeon moniker, and Exclaim! is pleased to premiere a brand new video for "Faithful" from the forthcoming full-length.

The upcoming record is titled T R O U B L E and it's set to arrive on April 1 via Boompa Records. That's the album artwork pictured above.

Sandro Perri stepped into the role of producer for the latest offering, while Daniel Gaucher, Colin Edward Cowan and Annalea Sordi-McClure round out the project's current lineup.

The result is a collection of songs about "rhythm and sex and sadness," and Hamilton describes it in a press release as "the loudest thing I've ever made." It was spawned from a messy break-up and an ensuing trip that drew Hamilton away from his home in Vienna to Instanbul and Buenos Aires. His travels, along with the sonic influences of Avalon-era Roxy Music, Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night and even Kanye West's Yeezus, informed the latest creative output.

The first taste of the new material arrives with "Faithful" — an ode to a past relationship that certainly doesn't hear him holding back. "It's almost mortifying to be so honest and direct," he said of the song.

The accompanying video was directed by John James and Greg Gillespie and sees a scarf-sporting Hamilton making his way through lush forested surroundings. Coloured smoke sends up a dramatic visual twist, and you can watch it for yourself in the player below.
