The Wooden Sky Tour Ontario, Preview Upcoming Album with New EP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 19, 2011

The Wooden Sky are no strangers to intimate venues, as the Toronto folk rockers have previously played bedrooms and backyards across the nation. Now, they're getting ready to hit up more small venues as they tour North America in anticipation of their next LP.

Unlike some past Wooden Sky outings, these shows will be at official live music venues. The stops include various cafes and lounges in the U.S. and Ontario. The bulk of the dates are in Canada, as they will be joined by Northcote for six shows in their home province. In November, the Wooden Sky will head south of the border for three additional gigs.

Singer Gavin Gardiner had this to say in a press release: "I'm excited that these are such intimate venues as it allows a very different chemistry and interaction between the audience and us. We're hoping to use these spaces to try new ways of presenting our music and plan on making each show a special and unique experience for both ourselves and the people in the audience."

In early 2012, the Wooden Sky will release their new album through Black Box Recordings. Fans who come to the shows can pick up a preview of the new LP in the form of a limited-edition handmade EP. This will be available digitally the day before the tour on October 18. See the schedule below.
