The Wooden Sky's fan base has been growing steadily over the last few years, so there more than a few music lovers who have been hotly anticipating the third album from these Toronto-based roots rockers. It's called Every Child a Daughter, Every Moon a Sun, and before the record is released on February 28 through Black Box Recordings, you can stream the entire thing right here on Exclaim.ca.

A statement from singer Gavin Gardiner explains that this album finds the band spreading their wings stylistically, since "everyone had their eyes and ears open searching for new textures to play with." They had a massive creative burst after their original recording plans were delayed, and this extra time meant that a "collection of nine songs quickly ballooned into an 18-song opus; 13 songs ended up making the record. It did come dangerously close to being a double album."

Recording took place at Montreal's iconic Hotel 2 Tango studio with Howard Bilerman and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, with additional tracking and touch-ups completed in a variety of locales, including apartments, churches and a farm.
