The Wooden Birds Announce North American Tour, Play Toronto and Montreal

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 25, 2011

Last month, the Wooden Birds announced Two Matchsticks, the follow-up to their 2009 debut Magnolia. To be released June 7 on Barsuk, the album brings the pop stylings of singer Andrew Kenny (formerly of American Analog Set) back to the forefront and features guest appearances from Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and members of Ola Podrida, among others. While not all of the contributors to the disc may make it out on the road with Wooden Birds' touring lineup, the group will be promoting the new tunes on an upcoming trip.

Starting in June, the outfit will hit up a number of North American locales. Canadian fans can see the Wooden Birds in Toronto and Montreal. You can check out the rest of the tour schedule, which includes a bunch of U.S. stops, below.

If you needed any convincing to check these guys out, title track "Two Matchsticks" is streaming here on the Barsuk site, and a live set from last month's South by Southwest conference can be streamed here, courtesy of KUT.
