Wolfmother Wolfmother

Wolfmother face three formidable hindrances to becoming the "sprawling beast” that they purport to be. The first is their name. We don’t need any more "Wolf” bands. The second is they’re Australian. So are Jet, the Vines and the Datsuns, three of your least favourite bands. And the third is classic rock radio has ruined, or at least rendered cloying, the classic rock sound. Zeppelin, Sabbath and AC/DC may have been "Rock 101” for many, but listening to them now is akin to watching reruns of Saved by the Bell. You’ve seen them all, and you’re not sure why. Despite all of this, the songs are loud and the band have reserves of seemingly nuclear energy; two of the more powerful resources in rock. (Napalm)
