Wolfgang Voigt and Jörg Burger Join Forces as MOHN

Aside from heading up the reputable Kompakt imprint and the smaller Profan offshoot, Wolfgang Voigt is a fascinating musician in his own right. Following last year's Kafkatrax, Voigt has reteamed with Jörg Burger to become MOHN.

The duo have previously worked together in various other incarnations, including Burger/Ink, which released some work on Matador Records in the late '90s. Now, they've announced plans to release their debut album as MOHN later this year.

The press release describes the MOHN's upcoming self-titled album as "extremely decelerated, slow-motion techno with and without bass drum, containing lots of plasticiser," adding that the record contains "slow, sublime, sombre music, fusing different ambient styles to one new one." Best of all is the simple description as "opium for the people."

The duo's album is due out on April 23, and for now, you can stream the track "Manifesto" below, as well as watch a video for MOHN's "Ebertplatz 2020."
