Winter Gloves

I fell in love with their About A Girl record months ago, but it took a trip to the quartet’s hometown for me to finally see Winter Gloves. I was slightly nervous that songs like "Let Me Drive” weren’t going to make me want to dance like their recorded versions did and that front-man Charles’ falsetto on "Glass Paperweight” wasn’t going to ring as true as I hoped, but the Montrealers far surpassed my uneasy expectations. Even Becky from You Say Party!’s forgetfulness while singing "Party People” with their openers couldn’t bring Winter Gloves down.
