The TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a varied concert schedule, bringing artists like John Legend, St. Vincent and more to the Prairies.

The wave of artist announcements was made over the weekend, with organizers revealing a wide breadth of performers appearing at the fest, which runs June 12 to 22 across Winnipeg. In addition to R&B singer Legend and art-rock figure St. Vincent, nearly a hundred other performers were revealed.

Also appearing at the fest will be Timber Timbre, Oneohtrix Point Never, Killer Mike, and Le1f, among others. A theatre series, staged between the Manitoba Theatre Centre and the Burton Cummings Theatre, will feature performances from iconic pianist Ellis Marsalis, blues pro James Cotton and more left-field appearances from St. Vincent and Canadian rapper Shad. Also booked are vocalist Gregory Porter, trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, local favourite Curtis Nowosad and Ellis Marsalis.

"Since this is our 25th festival, we definitely wanted our lineup to reflect our history. We achieved that with legends like Ellis Marsalis and Arturo Sandoval," Jazz Fest executive producer Paul Nolin said in a statement. "At the same time — in the spirit of jazz and the festival itself — we've got a healthy dose of new, cutting edge artists as well."

Tickets are on sale now, with an early bird special currently landing the all-access "Super Pass" with a $225 price tag. A club pass, enabling special access to all club shows, but not the theatre-based performances, is going for $80. A one-day wristband for clubs is $30, and individual tickets are also available.

You'll find out more info on the ticketing over here.
