Published Mar 09, 2017With the summer festival lineups coming in fast and furious, Winnipeg Folk Festival has now revealed its 2017 lineup. And as could be expected, the bill is more than a little stacked.
Taking place on July 6 to 9 at Winnipeg's Birds Hill Provincial Park, the festival has roped in headliners such as City and Colour, the Shins and Feist. Also set to perform are the likes of John K. Samson & the Winter Wheat, Brandi Carlile, Barenaked Ladies, Bruce Cockburn, Daniel Lanois, Margaret Glaspy, Damien Jurado, Foy Vance, John Paul White, the Felice Brothers and Murder By Death.
You can see all the artists set to play the event in the extensive list below, where you'll also find an announcement video.
The festival's artistic director Chris Frayer had this to say of the lineup:
This year's lineup is a culmination of many influences and inspirations. Having the chance to travel abroad on behalf of the festival to discover talent creates a great opportunity to bring that sense of discovery back home to the summer fest to share. Over our 44-year history, our audience has come to expect and be moved by the musical diversity on our stages and this year's festival won't disappoint. The 2017 Winnipeg Folk Fest is full of incredible talent and will be another musical adventure to remember for years to come.
