Published Sep 30, 2011We're in the midst of Feist mania, as the beloved Canadian songstress (and current Exclaim! cover star) gears up for her latest album, Metals, due out October 4 via Arts & Crafts. And of course, we're getting excited for her exclusive Toronto show featuring Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste, Constantines' Bry Webb, the Hidden Cameras' Joel Gibb and Doug Paisley.
You might be bummed out that the aforementioned show is not open to the public, and that the CBC already announced the winners of the ultra-limited tickets. Well, you've got one more chance to get into that performance at Glenn Gould Studio on October 8.
There are currently three pairs of front-row tickets being made available for charity. One of the sets is available through an eBay auction with proceeds going to Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders. That humanitarian relief organization is giving away another pair through a draw its website.
The final set is being offered through the Daily Bread Food Bank. If you bring a shopping bag full of non-perishable items to either its Etobicoke headquarters (191 New Toronto St.) or the CBC building in Toronto (250 Front St. W.), you will be entered into a draw to win the tickets.
Remember: even if you don't get in, you can still catch her on tour this fall.
In an additional Feist tidbit, the Guardian has a short making-of video about Metals.
