Published Mar 18, 2016Willis Earl Beal released his latest LP Noctunes last summer, and now the Chicago singer-songwriter is gearing up to drop a new EP next month.
Through the Dark will arrive on April 1 and features a new set of songs that came out of a collaboration with producer Nathan Gibson. As the title implies, the new material is a continuation of the artist's "journey through the darkness to the unknown ending light."
The first listen arrives in the form of the EP's title track, which premiered over at Clash. It pits Beal's haunting, melancholic vocals against a minimalist electronic backdrop, making for an eerie and unsettling, but nevertheless beautiful piece of music.
