William Basinski and Lawrence English Announce Collaborative 'Selva Oscura' LP

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Aug 30, 2018

Revered composers in their own right, William Basinski and Lawrence English are now set to release a collaborative album later this year.

Titled Selva Oscura, the joint effort will arrive October 12 through Temporary Residence. The pair have dedicated the album to late mutual friend and filmmaker Paul Clipson, who passed away earlier this year.

The album's title is taken from Dante's Inferno and literally translates as "twilight forest." The title is said to metaphorically speak to "the nature of losing one's way in place and time."

Selva Oscura is available for pre-order here. Hear an edit of the album's title track in the player below.
