'The Wicker Man' Soundtrack to Receive 40th Anniversary Vinyl Release

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 25, 2013

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the classic UK cult film The Wicker Man, and to mark the occasion, the soundtrack will get a new vinyl reissue. Appropriately enough, the spooky soundtrack will be released on October 31. Yes, that's Halloween.

The soundtrack wasn't released until years after the film came out, and this pressing features a shorter tracklist than the CD versions that have come out over the years. The artwork was specially created for this release by Richey Beckett.

The record is available to pre-order from Rare Sleeve. The artwork is also available on T-shirts and posters, so peruse your purchasing options here. The vinyl is limited to 500 copies.

The folksy music was composed, arranged and recorded by Paul Giovanni and Magnet. It draws on nursery rhymes, pieces by Robbie Burns, and traditional tunes.
