Whoops! The Black Keys' MTV VMA Credited to the Black Eyed Peas

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 15, 2010

Last month, the Black Keys' "Tighten Up" won them the MTV VMA for Breakthrough Video. Good news, right? Well, maybe not. The band have now received their trophy and it contains an unfortunate typo: it credits the award to the Black Eyed Peas.

This news came out in a Facebook update by the Black Keys, who posted the above image on their wall. As you can see, the rest of the information is correct - the date and the name of the song - but MTV screwed up the minor detail of the band name.

The band captioned the photo, "We are super proud of fergie!!!"

See the winning video for "Tighten Up" embedded at the bottom of this page.

In other Black Keys-related news, the band have released a Black Keys Dress Up Kit just in time for Halloween. Want to know how to look like the band? Turns out it's just as simple at a beard and glasses.

Thanks for Pitchfork for the tip.
