Who the Fuck are the Arctic Monkeys?

DVD

While new bands struggle to keep their egos and nerves in check, it only figures that the biggest of them all are playing it cool. Having already scored number one hits with their album and two singles, Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys are jumping into filmmaking. You may be thinking A Hard Day’s Night, but Scummy Man is more akin to Trainspotting without the happy ending. The short brings to life the tragic tale of the band’s hit "When the Sun Goes Down” — the story of a young prostitute battling drug addiction, an oppressive pimp and a disturbed amateur magician on the not-so-nice streets of Sheffield. Dismal, earnest and remarkably unsettling, it proves that this is a band in it for the art.
