The White Stripes Reissue 'White Blood Cells'-Era Singles

Since officially breaking up, the White Stripes have delved deep into the archives for some reissues and retrospective releases. Now, frontman Jack White's label Third Man Records is once again unearthing some artifacts from the garage rock duo's celebrated career.

For Record Store Day's Black Friday event on November 23, the White Stripes will reissue three classic 7-inches on opaque red vinyl. These feature the White Blood Cells singles "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground," "Hotel Yorba" and "Fell in Love with a Girl."

Assuming that these reissues preserve the original B-sides, "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" comes backed with a live in-studio cover of Robert Johnson's "Stop Breaking Down." Similarly, "Hotel Yorba" is backed with a live cover in the form of Loretta Lynn's "Rated X." Lastly, "Fell in Love with a Girl" features a live in-studio version of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David-penned "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself."

The Third Man website notes that these limited-edition releases will be available directly from Third Man or from participating RSD stores.

Go to Record Store Day's website to learn more about the event and which stores will be participating.
