Published Mar 04, 2014Long-running Vancouver post-punk outfit White Lung continue to build in popularity. Now, they've made a big move in the record label world, signing with the reputable Domino imprint.
Though they haven't announced anything just yet, the label will surely release White Lung's third full-length album, which was recorded with reputable Vancouver producer Jesse Gander earlier this year.
For now, the band have shared explosive new single "Drown With the Monster," along with a video featuring some high-energy live footage. The band's Mish Way described the song's lyrics with the following statement:
I was looking at these pieces by Andrea Mary Marshall in The New Inquiry and there was this quote from her, 'Toxic Women are toxic to themselves. They are Tragic Heroines who blow dry their own wounds. I aspire to be the opposite.' This song is about kicking habits and running away with a new distraction. It's a song about my two biggest vices, but I'd rather drown with the monster than blow dry my wounds.
Domino will release "Drown With the Monster" as a 7-inch single, with new song "Snake Jaw" on the B-side. The release will be available on April 29, and the cover art is available above.
