White Hot Guilt

'White Hot Guilt' (EP stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 18, 2017

White Hot Guilt is a meeting of the musical minds between July Talk's Josh Warburton and producer Thomas D'Arcy, and the two-piece are about to release their self-titled debut EP. First, though, Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to the record in its entirety.

The five-song offering hears the duo combining what's been described as "Daft Punk meets the Bee Gees" and "LCD Soundsystem meets Stevie Wonder," injecting danceable, soulful sounds into fun, upbeat pop songs.

The EP features an array of familiar guest contributors, including Ryan Dahle (Age of Electric, Limblifter), Peter Dreimanis (July Talk), Justin Peroff (Broken Social Scene) and many others.

In addition to incorporating the work of pals from their musical community, the album is also hoping to give back to wider society; all proceed from White Hot Guilt will be donated to SKETCH, an arts program aimed at young people who are "living street involved, homeless or otherwise on the margins."

White Hot Guilt is officially out July 21, but you can give the EP an early listen below right now.
