Though not big on philosophy ("were bullshit, based upon the fundamentals of Donald Sutherland and that 70s Dustin Hoffman we used to know) what this Guelph band lack in meaning on paper they make up for in sound. Choosing ascending drama and off-key vocals, its their charisma via a cutesy synth and a fireworks-worthy ending that safeguard the bands identity. Sure theyre joining the ranks of the Arcade Fire faithful for epic, feel-good anthems, but dammit, is that such a bad thing? (socialartsclub.org/ wmo/the%201800s.mp3)
