Weight

"Not Enough"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 14, 2016

Adam Seward has been making music since he was a teenager, and spent his late 20s channelling his creativity into Toronto band Rituals. Now, entering his early 30s, Seward is opting to make music solo, and he's unveiled his debut single as Weight.

The project's inaugural offering is titled "Not Enough," and it hears Seward exploring his fascinations with smooth R&B bass and vocals, post-punk guitar work and hip-hop-inspired beats. "Not Enough" encapsulates each of those elements, blending slick grooves, falsetto croons and twinkling backing rhythms together into a seriously smooth slice of electro-tinged pop.

Seward will bring Weight to the stage for the first time, accompanied by Rolemodel's Jordan Allan. Their live debut is set to go down on June 16 at the Smiling Buddha in Toronto, with a debut EP expected out this fall.
