Weezer's Rivers Cuomo Almost Released a Vegetarian Rap Album as Vegeterrorists

It still would have been better than 'Pacific Daydream'

Weezer have had a hell of a lot of ups and downs in the last two and a half decades. And while most people view new Weezer in the same category as new Simpsons, Rivers Cuomo's songbook could have been even worse. After all, he nearly released a vegetarian rap album.

Rolling Stone has published a long retrospective piece to celebrate 25 years of the Blue Album, and the article includes a brief allusion to Rivers' abandoned political rap project.

Jason Cropper, who played guitar alongside Cuomo in the pre-Weezer band Sixty Wrong Sausages, told Rolling Stone that around the time he was writing 50 songs for the Blue Album, Cuomo also made an entire rap album about vegetarianism. Though it has never seen the light of day, the project does have an incredibly ridiculous moniker — Vegeterrorists.

"Rivers can drop mad beats and spit mad rhymes with the best," Cropper said. "And if I stayed in the band, we would've done records like that years ago."

The Vegeterrorists album has never seen the light of day, but we would personally love to hear it. After all, could it be any worse than Pacific Daydream?
