The guys from Weezer have long been described as "geeks," meaning that they've got a lot in common with those who work in the computer industry. It's only natural, therefore, that the band are performing in Ontario next month to celebrate the launch of Microsoft's new store.

The store will open on February 8 at the Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, ON, and free Weezer tickets will be given to the first 2,500 customers. Fans who are eager to ensure that they get a ticket can start lining up the night before at 10 p.m.

The show then takes place on February 9 at the Powerade Centre in nearby Brampton, ON. The gates open at noon and the show begins at the rather early hour of 2 p.m.

More detailed information about the show and how to get in are available at Weezer's website.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting to hear details about Weezer's next album. The last we heard, frontman Rivers Cuomo promised that they would begin recording with producer Ric Ocasek of the Cars in January. The second instalment of their Weezer Cruise sets sail a few days after the Microsoft show.
