Published Aug 20, 2010Weezer have almost been at Kanye levels of news-making this month. Not only did they reveal that they've signed to Epitaph and will be releasing a new album, but the maligned/beloved alt-rock group stoked interest even further with the announcement of a possible Pinkerton tour. Now, they've nearly confirmed the tour entirely, adding that it will also include the Blue Album.
"We have this really exciting idea to do a tour where we spend two nights in each city, and the first night, we play the entire Blue album, and the second night, we play the entirety of Pinkerton," frontman Rivers Cuomo told MTV News. "We're just running it by promoters right now to see if there's sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that, and if they're on board, it's gonna happen."
Drummer Pat Wilson added, "Yeah, it would probably be a Blue/Pinkerton tour. It's an idea, we're still examining the mathematics of everything, looking at the logistics and schedules... you know."
If you want the Blue Album and Pinkerton in your town, Cuomo says you should bust out the pen and ink. "The fan response has been incredible so far for the idea," he said. "And, if they want to, they can contact their local promoter and tell them to make it happen."
