Published Sep 26, 2014After some delays, alt-rock icons Weezer are nearing the release of their long-awaited Everything Will Be Alright in the End LP. Today, they tease the album further with a new song called "Lonely."
While other recent songs have seen the band delighting in classic rock posturing and self-referential lyrics, "Lonely" offers some welcome simplicity. A sock-hop-ready melody collides with fuzzy, grunged-out guitars and vocal harmonies as Rivers Cuomo offers a self-loathing love song. In all seriousness, the song sounds like a Blue Album-era B-side.
Listen to "Lonely" below. Everything Will Be Alright in the End will arrive on October 7 via Republic.
