Weezer

"California Kids" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 10, 2016

Weezer have just unveiled another video ahead of issuing their self-titled "White Album," but the scenes may be a bit familiar if you've been following the promo campaign thus far. The new video for "California Kids" has band leader Rivers Cuomo experiencing a serious case of videography deja vu.

Twisting up what we'd already seen in videos for "Thank God for Girls," "King of the World" and "L.A. Girlz," this latest clip finds bespectacled rock dude Cuomo going HAM on a plate of deep fried treats, tossing on a crown and flipping peeps the bird on a boardwalk and enjoying a bit of beach time.

As for the song, it's an old-style Weezer crusher full of big pop-rock hooks, falsetto backups and lyrics about shaking the cobwebs off to enjoy life.

Put together by SCANTRON and Jade Ehlers, the morphed-up video can be seen below. Weezer's next self-titled record drops in full on April 1.
