Ween Announce West Coast Tour, Play Vancouver

Vancouverites with Boognish tattoos rejoice, as your cultish leaders, Dean and Gene, will be bringing their endlessly bizarre Ween project back to town this January. Despite the fact that they haven't released a new studio album since 2007's La Cucaracha, the group will bring some colour to your January with a brief West coast jaunt.

The tour kicks off in Vancouver on January 24, their only Canadian date. From there, Ween will continue down the West coast, hitting Seattle, Portland, Oakland and Los Angeles.

Hopefully, the brief run of dates means Ween are testing out some new material. In an interview with the National Post earlier this year, Ween revealed that they are planning to enter the studio this winter and start production on their 12th album, though it might not be as painstaking as previous efforts.

"The part of being in a band that I have enjoyed the most is recording and making full-length albums. But the amount of work we put into our last album just felt like it was a waste of time," said Dean Ween. "It felt like nobody cares as much as we do about. People aren't buying the albums anymore. They're just downloading some shit."

 Tour dates:

1/25 Seattle, WA - Paramount

1/26 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom

1/28 Oakland, CA - Fox Theater

1/29 Los Angeles, CA - Wiltern
