Weekend Nachos

The sludgy slow crawl is a revelation to bands like Weekend Nachos, whose latest seven-inch would be little more than a two-minute, two-song, blurred burst were it not for its slithering sections. Even then, Watch You Suffer is a quick listen, with each song bridging the band's powerviolence backdrop with sludgier snippets. The title track creeps to a more deliberate pace after a pummelling first half, while "That Life of Yours" does the opposite, revving itself up with neck-snapping speed after a more brooding beginning. Either way, the result is the same: songs as heavy as they are brief. In this case, that's a good thing.
