The Weakerthans, the Hidden Cameras, Rock Plaza Central, the Acorn Heading to This Year's Ottawa Folk Festival

The Ottawa Folk Festival isn't your average dude-with-acoustic-guitar folk fest. For proof, just look at the line-up for its recently announced 2010 instalment, which features a range of styles, including hip-hop, rock, indie pop and, yes, folk.

Among this year's most noteworthy performers are the Hidden Cameras, the Acorn, Bahamas, Arrested Development, Calexico, Bruce Peninsula, Frank Turner and Jim Bryson with the Weakerthans. Toronto, ON-based alt-folk outfit Rock Plaza Central will also be playing, an especially notable performance seeing as they recently announced their retirement from touring (we're guessing this is one of those occasional festival dates they talked about).

The festival will take place from August 13 to 15 in Ottawa's Britannia Park. The full line-up has yet to be announced, but you can take a look at all of the artists booked so far over at the Ottawa Folk Festival website.

Early bird weekend passes are available now and will set you back $69 for adults and $39 for youths and seniors. If you wait to purchase tickets at the gate, they'll cost $99 (adults) or $59 for (youths/seniors). Single day passes will be made available starting on June 1. For more ticket info, click here
