We Are Scientists Return with 'Business Casual' EP

It's been more than three years since We Are Scientists released Barbara, and the New York indie rock outfit are back with a new release for a new record label. The five-song Business Casual EP will come out on October 15, with the Canadian release handled by Dine Alone Records.

This follows a recent digital single, although those two songs — "Something About You" and "Let Me Win" — don't appear here. Sessions took place at the Magic Shop in New York with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, TV on the Radio, Grizzly Bear) and at Atomic Heart in New York with Claudius Mittendorfer (Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Johnny Marr).

A press release promises that the EP includes a range of sounds, from "visceral rock" to a pedal steel-laced version of Berlin's Top Gun anthem "Take My Breath Away." There's also a demo of a song called "Courage."

The tracklist is below, and scroll past that to see an EP trailer featuring the echoing track "Return the Favor."

Business Casual:

1. Dumb Luck
2. Return the Favor
3. Good Answer
4. Courage (demo)
5. Take My Breath Away
