Waxwork Records Lines Up Soundtrack Reissue of 'The Warriors'

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 2, 2016

The soundtrack enthusiasts at Waxwork Records have been busy reissuing classic film scores, and now they've announced another one. Next up for the label is a pressing of the score from The Warriors.

The much-loved cult classic dates back to 1979, and for the unfamiliar, it's an action thriller about gangs in New York City. The synth-leaning score was composed by Barry De Vorzon.

This new pressing is distinct from the film's original soundtrack. While that previously released album included a few cuts by De Vorzon, a tweet from Waxwork confirms that this is the full film score, which has never before been released.

The details surrounding the release are still up in the air, but we can expect this out sometime in 2014.

UPDATE (5/2, 2 p.m.): Waxwork has now confirmed the long-in-the-works soundtrack reissue will go up for sale on Friday (May 6). You can see the newly revamped cover art above and via their tweet.
As recently reported, a reissue of The Warriors is hardly the only release Waxwork has in the works. Also incoming are reissues of the soundtracks to Chopping Mall and Creepshow.
