Published Dec 05, 2013If you ever wanted to have a crazy, ritualistic sex orgy with your septuagenarian neighbours, or coolly sing a lullaby to your wild-eyed demon baby, then this may interest you: Waxwork Records has given up the details to its forthcoming vinyl repress of Christopher Komeda's insanely eerie and iconic score to the 1968 Roman Polanski film Rosemary's Baby.
A press release from the label notes that while the in-store due date isn't until January 28, pre-orders for the LP begin on December 10.
While portions of the soundtrack have been released on CD and LP in the past, this will be the first time the complete version of Komeda's score will be preserved on a single vinyl release. The 22-track collection of songs and incidentals was remixed and remastered for vinyl using the original analog master tapes. You'll find the detailed tracklisting down below.
The bulk of the pressing is being served up on clear 180-gram vinyl, but a small pressing of 500 copies on "black and crystal clear centre haze"-coloured vinyl will be randomly shipped out to stores. Additionally, the first 200 pre-orders for the set will be presented on a double-coloured slab of wax, with one side on "baby blue marble" vinyl and the flip running "deep blood red." This will be one piece of vinyl, not two separate records glued together, apparently making it the first of its kind.
As for the rest of the packaging, the record will be housed in gatefold jacket featuring new art from Jay Shaw, which you can see up above. The record will also include an essay from Shaw, a 12x12 art print of the cover, detailed liner notes, unreleased production still and more.
